So Liam was a monkey for Halloween this year.  I was so excited.  Last year I bought his costume from Once Upon a Child, a children’s consignment shop.  Let’s get real.  No one year old needs a Halloween costume that cost more than $10.  I think I got out spending $5 for the most precious giraffe costume.

I had planned to do the exact same thing this year except I had no time to drive the hour down to Hickory to look.  So I went to Amazon.  Amazon Prime is a life saver.  If you don’t have it…get it!  If you are like me and you tend to have buyers remorse, you can return for FREE!

So I ended up getting him a monkey costume.  The factors to this decision?  He can say “monkey”, he can make a monkey sound and he can act like a monkey.  No brainer, right?  And all the moms out there agree with me I’m sure.  So, my momma-ness overrode me money-brain and $30 later the cutest monkey costume ever arrived on my door step.

It had a tail, two feet for shoes, an adorable monkey hat and a warm, furry money suit.  A perfect Halloween costume…unless you lived in North Carolina this Halloween.

Here is how Liam spent the first few hours at our Trunk or Treat at church.

It.  Was.  Hot.  It was in the low to mid 80s that evening.  I do not complain about hot weather but I just didn’t have the heart to make him sweat bullets just to look cute.

Now, had we been in Montana, their high was in the mid 50s.  For me, that means long sleeves and a pretty decent sized jacket.

I have no doubt that next Halloween as I take my Little Man out Trick or Treating wearing the warmest costume we can find (or layering under our costumes as I did many years living in Missouri–one year in the snow!), I will dream back to this Halloween and wish upon a star for some of the warmth and sunshine.

He did finally get to wear it and helped pass out the candy.  ðŸ™‚
