file_000-copyIt took me over a week to get this screen to appear on my computer.

Booking a one-way ticket to Montana proved to be hard.  There was a lot of inward coaxing going on.  “You’ve got this Loren.  You can do this.  You’ll be back in June.  Just do it.  The ticket’s going to get more expensive.  Just press enter.  You’ve got this.  Ready?  GO!”

Not to mention debating every flight and every layover and every departure day and every price combination.  After the layover I missed on my way back home in December (and the scene I know I was causing in the airport), I now realize that a 47 minute layover with a toddler is not necessarily the best idea (although missing my flight was due to the Bozeman snowfall and not sweet Liam).

I have never been good at “big decisions”.  I debate, debate, debate all the options.  It’s ridiculous.  And then half the time I make the decision and then second guess myself only to begin the debating again.

Just last week, I needed to buy some bedding for the new condo Matt was moving into.  (Yes, we got a two bedroom to live in!)  The condo itself is fully furnished but didn’t have any linens.  I saw this as a perfect opportunity for some redecorating.  A clean slate.  I could chose ANY color combination in the world.  Any bedspread pattern.  The possibilities were endless!  I was not about to let Matt go out and buy bedding that I was going to be living with for a year.  I mean, his bedding when I met him was all tans and hunter greens and covered in fish!  I couldn’t chance it.

So I got on Amazon because it would be there in two days.  After WAY to much thought I finally narrowed it down to two and let him pick.  I ordered it and then called my sister.  “You know, Target has free two day shipping too” she casually mentioned.  No.  No I did NOT know that or I would have been shopping at Target the entire time!

And then came the instant second guessing.  I went straight to Target.com and found the PERFECT comforter set for my bed.  World’s better than what I had just bought five minutes before.  But because of Amazon’s oh-so-speedy shipping they could not guarantee that canceling my order would truly cancel my order.

Needless to say, I will be putting the bedding from Amazon on the guest room bed (SOOOO excited that we now have a guest room!!!) and I’ll order my perfect comforter set when I get there.

Speaking of getting there….

The house has sold.  All major hurdles have been passed.  So it’s really just a waiting game now until closing.  I’ve turned in my notice at work and they’ve hired a new teacher who will come shadow me in the next few weeks.  I’ve started packing my classroom and lined up friends and family to help me move out of the house in March.

March 21.  Closing Day.
March 23.  Flying Away Day and the beginning of our adventure!

While these lyrics aren’t exactly about my situation, it’s a favorite from a long time ago and the parts that hit close to home have made me want to sing it over and over again!

Leann Rimes “One Way Ticket”

Standing on the border
Looking out into the great unknown
I can feel my heart beating faster as I step out on my own
There’s new horizon and the promise of favorable wind
I’m heading out tonight, traveling light
I’m gonna start all over again

And buy one way ticket on a west bound train
See how far I can go (Because I can)
I’m gonna go out dancing in the pouring rain
And talk to someone I don’t know (Because I can)
I will face the world around me
Knowing that I’m strong enough to let you go
And I will fall in love again
Because I can
