As a first grade teacher, I know just how much a little six year old brain can soak up. And so much of this knowledge takes simple repetition and practice. Have you ever heard of a six year old who lives repetition and practice? I doubt it! That’s why I’ve created flashcard review games.

Board games are always a win for young children. So why not give them what they want and have them learn something along the way?

The Games

Each game needs only a few items to play. Those items could be: a paperclip, pawns, a die and/or marker pieces. And, of course, your flashcards!

Each game has slightly different rules. But, no matter which game you play, every turn will involve a flashcard review!

Games include:

Or maybe you like to plan ahead? Here are some for Halloween and Thanksgiving as well.

What Cards?

In my class, we use these games to review our phonics sounds and math facts. But they can be used for ANYTHING that can be written on a card!

States and capitals? Sure.

Periodic table? Why not.

Letter recognition? Perfect.

Facts about the Civil War? Yup.

Just head over to Dollar Tree and get a pack of 200 index cards for $1.00 and get started.
