File_000It seems weird to know that I won’t be walking back into this building again  (and, yes, that’s my school though it may not look like one).  And it seems weird to have no job!  But, yesterday went well.  I have a few ways that I plan on staying in touch with them for the remainder of the year as leaving before the school year ended is definitely harder than leaving at summer break…and knowing I won’t be coming back of course.

And move out day went fine at home today.  I’m still in awe of all the stuff we have.  On the one side I realize it is truly a blessing to have so much “stuff” but on the contrary it just seems ridiculous  A friend of mine watched a documentary on being a minimalist and while I couldn’t take it to the extreme I can certainly see the enticement.

As I continued to pack more boxes, the “get rid of it” pile kept growing (yes!).  Matt and I are in a unique situation that while we are moving to Montana, the majority of our stuff is staying in storage in North Carolina for about a year until we buy a house.  So, as I pack, the questions tend to be:
1. Do I need it in Montana right when I get there? – meaning it’s going on the airplane
2. Can it wait a week or two before I’ll need it in Montana? – meaning ship it (for who knows what ridiculous price)
3. Can I just store it for a year? – send it to the storage unit

I already dread the day that the moving truck opens up at our new house in Montana.  I’m already thinking ‘If I didn’t need it for an entire year do I really need it?’

Anyway, one persons junk is another persons treasure right?  I’ve cracked up at the stuff of ours that friends and family are taking.  Everything from toys and bags to the stuff right out of my freezer!!

I’m not shipping paper towels to Montana!

The house sits pretty empty now.  The storage unit is COMPLETELY full.  I looked around the house just before I left and remembered the excitement we’d had when we first walked in.  I pray for the couple who has bought our house and that they love it as much as we have.

Liam and I are at Darnell and Jerry’s (my inlaws) for the next few nights.  We’ve got plans to see a few more friends and family before we head out to Big Sky Country….and to MATT!!!!!
