Liam and I have been keeping very busy here lately.
On Monday, we started with a short to-do list Matt had already made for me – get our new license plate. Sounds simple, right? But nothing government related is that easy.
I got to the courthouse at 8:00. That was the first confusing thing to me. Shouldn’t I go to the DMV? But apparently not. But, they didn’t open until 8:30 so I decided to stroll down Main Street with Liam.
Walking with an independent two year old can be a struggle but we meandered our way down the street. Downtown in the eyes of a child is so wonderful. We talked about every “big truck” that drove by. We stopped and pointed at every airplane that flew over. We stood for what seemed like forever staring at what I will refer to as a “tractor”. I really need to learn all of my construction equipment as that is Liam’s newest fascination. And we stopped and examined every sculpture along the sidewalk.
But my favorite adult part of our pre-courthouse walk was a cute coffee-spot with a GREAT Double Chocolate Mocha!
Finally making it back to the courthouse and waiting close to thirty minutes, I find out that there are more steps I need to take before we can get the license…of course.
But I’m less worried about getting our license and more worried about when I’ll get downtown again to get that coffee!
